PC vs Console.

When it comes to gaming, you have two main choices for at-home video games. Console, or PC. It's something that has always existed, but how much longer will it be like it is today?
Talking game-play specifically, the only real difference is keyboard mouse vs analog controller. I personally prefer a mouse keyboard, especially for FPS. But some people swear by their controller. It's been awhile since I played console heavily, I was a big PS2 fan and spent a lot of time on that. Now It's mostly just PC gaming, mmo's hooked me the minute I stepped into my first one.
I think it's really interesting how consoles are just as important in the gaming world as ever. Using me as an example, I haven't played one in a long time and I'd consider myself a ridiculously hard-core gamer nerd. Really, all I'm losing out on are console-specific games, is there anything else? I guess thats all that really drives it. It's been really hard to pass up Final Fantasy, MGS, etc. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a PS3 soon.
Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not they think this will last for the next decade or two?

And the ps3 is cool and all but I perfer the xbox 360 it has more games and I love mine.
