Just Cause 2

Just Cause 2 came out a little over a week ago, and if you haven't played the demo yet, it's free on steam. Make it happen. It came out of left field for me, a buddy of mine recommended it and I was pleasantly surprised.
The game is built on it's own engine, and it has a GTA style of play, in other words, "sandbox". Hell, you might as well call it video game parkour. How you get from point A to B, how you complete a mission, etc. is entirely up to you. No two players will ever approach this game the same way. This type of game-play is my absolute favorite, where they really just give you the tools and mechanics to go wild. Really, the world is just a playground for you.
The story may not be anything compared to say, Mass Effect, or say, the Half-Life series, but it's enough to keep you interested. The general outline is a lot similar to something you'd see in GTA, get your reputation up with certain factions, do some missions, kill some bad guys, cause some CHAOS. Just don't expect any Oscar moments.
Visually the game is amazing, almost on par with Crysis. If you have the system to run it on all high, you'll be very happy. The world you have to work is a mix everything from palm tree beaches to ice-capped mountains, with a few urban areas.
The kind of "niche" or what I would call key-point of the game is the use of your grappling hook and endless supply of parachutes. It's kind of hard to explain the possibilities, but trust me when I say there is no limit to what you can do. It reminds me of using the gravity gun, in terms of how creative you can be, but in its' own way.
Listen, the demo at the very least is worth a try, if you don't have fun, let me know how the hell thats even possible.
